FLSA Classification: Exempt (not overtime eligible)

Salary Range: $32,000 Annually

Schedule: Part-time - 20 hours/week
Travel: This position is fully remote, and will require some Metro Area Travel
After accepting this postilion will require at least a one year commitment to the team.
Working Relationships and Qualifications

This position reports to the Governor's Advisor. This position has no supervisory responsibility.


The Executive Assistant provides direct scheduling and administrative support and completes special projects as assigned.The Assistant is considered essential administrative and operational support and will be trusted with confidential information and otherwise sensitive information pertaining to the Governor's Office priorities.


The Governor's Advisor leads the Administration's work on assisting agencies and Executive Directors in transforming their agencies' use of technology and delivering services through digital strategies. The majority of the Advisor's time is spent assisting agencies with special projects regarding vendor management, contract negotiation, and complex partnerships and other intergovernmental agreements that further the administration's goals.

The Governor's Advisor works with many state agencies as well as federal and local stakeholders on special projects on behalf of the Governor for the State of Colorado. The current focus is working with the clean tech and energy communities in the development of the Global Energy Park in West Denver next to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. This project involves many stakeholders, so the ability to communicate and coordinate between government, industry, academia, and nonprofits, as well as individuals, is critical to this function and mission. The majority of the Advisor's time is spent on complex partner and vendor management, negotiation, financial oversight, and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling and meeting support

  • Special projects

  • Manage scheduling, appointments and calendars for the Governor's Advisor

  • Help the Advisor prepare for meetings, including research

  • Coordinate on key working relationships of the Advisor and manage meeting requests on behalf of the Advisor

  • Develop meeting agendas and minutes in collaboration with project stakeholders

  • Lead and complete research assignments as directed by the Governor's Advisor

  • Support project management activities and communications

  • Write memos, newsletters, reports, and other documents as needed

  • Coordinate with and serve as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders across state agencies and external stakeholders across private and public sectors

  • Contribute to strategy and planning work, meetings, and other activities such as process improvement and other opportunities indicated by the Advisor

  • Lead additional projects at the direction of the Advisor and the incumbent's interests

Core competencies for the position include:

  • Minimum education and experience requirements: 2 years related work experience.

  • Working experience with Google Suite

  • Worked Experience with Microsoft word documents, spreadsheets and slide presentations;

  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills;

  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills; and

  • Team player, proactive and takes initiative, attention to detail, passion for a fast paced and fun work environment.

Conditions of Employment

Applicants must pass a thorough background check prior to employment.

Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and may be required to submit to regular serial testing. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their COVID-19 vaccination status with proof of vaccination. Testing, if required, will take place in-person and will be considered paid work time. Note: Currently, "Fully vaccinated" means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine, all as defined by the State of Colorado's Public Health Order and guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. The definition of "fully vaccinated" may be changed and updated to include additional doses and/or manufacturer types of vaccination.
