Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Providing high-level administrative support services to the CEO, ensuring professional, responsive, and seamless operations and service from the executive office of Sabathani.

  • Developing articulate correspondence, presentations, reports, and memos on behalf of the CEO’s office using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Establishing and implementing administrative policies, procedures, and protocols across all administrative functions.
  • Maintaining accurate filing and communication systems, including archiving, document management, and contact management.
  • Researching topics and preparing information for the CEO’s review in a straightforward, applicable format.
  • Professionally representing the CEO’s office interfacing with internal staff, external partners, funders, tenants, contractors, and vendors as directed by the CEO.
  • Serving as administrative backup to other absent admin staff.

Who You Are

  • You have 5-10 years of experience supporting senior leaders, preferably in a nonprofit or public sector setting.
  • You possess experience and cultural competence in serving diverse populations and understand the social and economic disparities experienced by the Sabathani service community.
  • You have an interest in working in the human services nonprofit sector; experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred, and knowledge of the South Minneapolis area is desired.
  • You exhibit impeccable judgment and uncompromising integrity.
  • You are an analytical, strategic thinker with the ability to quickly learn organizational dynamics, anticipate needs, and initiate appropriate action.
  • You have experience managing complex calendars and understand scheduling protocols.
  • You are proficient in the advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and have a working knowledge of Zoom, MS Teams, and other virtual meeting platforms.
  • You demonstrate the ability to understand "big picture" strategic objectives without losing sight of the details.
  • You are committed to results, with a "can-do" mindset and emphasis on personal accountability.
  • You possess the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy and exhibit strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • You can adjust work hours as needed, including attending evening board meetings.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You hold a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Sabathani’s driving record requirements. Please note that if your license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).

We are passionate about building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment where everyone can belong. Every member of our team enriches our work by exposing us to a broad range of ways to understand and engage with the world, identify challenges, and to discover, design, and deliver solutions. We welcome everyone to apply, especially those individuals who are underrepresented in our sector: individuals who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQI+ and gender fluid or gender nonconforming, individuals with disabilities (both seen and unseen), veterans, people of any age or family status.
