UT Health Quitman is a critical access hospital located in Wood County. The current facility was constructed in 2013 and features 25 private rooms; 24-hour emergency department designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level Ill stroke center: surgical suites; advanced diagnostic technology; swing bed care; cardiopulmonary rehabilitation; on-site physician clinics and a sleep lab.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Assistant provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship with the administrative team. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the CEO. The Executive Assistant also serves as a liaison to the senior management teams; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. The Executive Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Executive Assistant will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the corporate level administrative assistant, with an emphasis on executive scheduling, time management and overall coordination of the corporate office.
- Assists with the preparation for the execution of board meetings throughout the system.
- Assists the CEO with special or ongoing projects involving corporate, industry, community and government relations.
- Serves as a liaison between the CEO and additional members of administration, including hospital administrators and corporate directors.
- Facilitates the flow of documents and telephone messages into the CEO office and secures timely authority/signatures as needed.
- Supervises the secretarial staff for corporate and UTHET Tyler administration, including hiring and annual reviews.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Additional training and continuing education in healthcare administration preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of administrative experience in a corporate setting required, preferably within a healthcare or other not-for-profit environment.
