Compensation: $24 - $27 per hour
The Events Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all Habitat for Humanity SCNJ events are carried out with professionalism and aligned with the branding and goals of the organization. This position will develop and implement a comprehensive annual events plan that aligns with resource development goals and objectives. Manage all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, guest invites, venue selection, vendor contracts, event logistics, and post-event follow-up. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer (CDO).
Primary Duties and Responsibility include but not limited to: -
Oversee all details related Habitat for Humanity SCNJ signature events including but not limited to: Building Hope Luncheon, Women Build, Rock the Block, Casino Night, Charity Build, 5k, Unity Build, Take a Veteran to Lunch.
- Create and maintain an events calendar that includes all critical event planning milestones.
- Ensures events are delivered on schedule and within budget and meet revenue objective.
- Tracks event revenue and expenses by each specific event
- Coordinates all day-of-event logistics including set up and tear down, volunteer management, maintaining contacts with the host site, vendors and deliveries
- Recruit and maintain relationships with event sponsors, vendors, and partners.
- Serve as the point of contact for HFHSCNJ for all third party events.
- Works with all corporate sponsors to ensure that all of their corporate benefits have been met
- Support the maintenance of event guests, sponsors, and partners in the database, such as tracking attendance, donations, contracts, and more.
- Work with the Chief Development Officer and Development Coordinator on the development of marketing resources, brochures, and support materials for events in addition to maintaining and updating information on the website and social media, as needed, to effectively highlight the activities of the events and ensure clear messaging.
- Recruit and lead volunteer leadership for each event.
- Identifies and solicits prospects for in-kind donations for all events.
- Creates a seamless, balanced, and enjoyable experience for event attendees through effective leadership of assigned events.
- Provides event reports as requested or required.
- Organize all Habitat home groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and dedications for the organization.
- Operates within established guidelines of the approved budget.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in event planning and management.
- Experience with fundraising software, preferable Harness.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail: meticulous and thorough work-style ensuring all details are addressed.
- Strong project management, time management, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a busy event calendar
- Ability to inspire, train, motivate, challenge, and supervise volunteers.
- Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience.
- Ability to work outside of the normal work schedule as needed
- Desire to contribute to a culture which embraces diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter with extraordinary organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles and views of Habitat for Humanity activities.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the territory as necessary for events and meetings
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in any field, preferred.
- Experience in event planning preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software required, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Salesforce and Harness is a plus.
