Title: Events and Marketing Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Part-time position: Up to 25 hours/week
Description:
The Events and Marketing Manager is responsible for working collaboratively with the management team towards achieving fundraising goals and coordinating the marketing of Tails Humane Society programs, services and events.
Duties:
- Plans and executes fundraising Events and mailings that meet or exceed goals and ensure that the participant experience is positive and effective. Prepares analyses of fundraising activities for committee and board meetings.
- Creates and adheres to event budgets.
- Interacts with event attendees, oversees logistics and event supplies, coordinates with outside vendors.
- Develops and implements cultivation strategies, including in-person, mail and online solicitations.
- Researches and secures new sources of financial support.
- Manages research, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all marketing and public activities and events to build brand awareness of the organization.
- Handles content and daily management of the organization’s online marketing and social media initiatives. Monitors internet trends and e-marketing best practices.
- Designs and maintains the website and ensures site content is updated regularly and tracks web traffic.
- Develops and updates collateral marketing materials.
- Develops and manages e-newsletters and email blasts.
- Supervise interns with duties related to fundraising and Marketing
Qualifications:
- Familiarity of DeKalb County, IL and its residents and businesses strongly desired
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus at least 3-5 year’s experience in the non-profit sector in areas such as fundraising, special Events and communications/marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, general office equipment
- Experience with WordPress preferred
- Comfortability with public speaking and being on live video, with basic video editing experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and growing department, handle fluctuating priorities and multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to work occasionally on weekends and evenings for meetings or events
- Ability to drive Tails cargo van to various locations throughout the service area
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and use the stairs
