As a subsidiary of Midway Auto Group, MG Studio is a creative studio and event space located in downtown Los Angeles. Built in 2016 as part of Midway Group, the studio was specifically designed with an automotive clientele in mind as a flexible space to host events such as press launches, photo shoots, focus groups and private parties. Over the last few years, the event space has grown to cater to many different industries and clients including film/TV shoots, music concerts, corporate seminars, weddings and more.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Sales Manager to lead and oversee the sales, planning and execution of events hosted at MG Studio. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and problem solver with superb communication skills and an attention to detail.
Essential job duties:
Sales & Marketing

  • Create and deliver price quotes/proposals to prospective clients
  • Generate and cultivate new sales leads
  • Assist in strategy and implementation of MG Studio marketing plans (social, email, etc.)
  • Attend networking events to continue developing MG Studio relationships
  • Assist/lead in responding to incoming MG Studio event inquiries

Event Management
  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact for events, from start to finish
  • Act as first point-of-contact for MG Studio phone calls and inquiries
  • Schedule/lead venue walk throughs with prospective clients
  • Manage booked events, including:

    • Proactive and timely client communication
    • Vendor coordination including cleaning and security services
    • Manage all event set up, tear down, and follow-up processes
    • Develop and distribute a detailed Run of Show prior to each event
    • Staff events and coordinate any additional staffing needs
    • Assist with budgeting and client invoices

  • Maintain overall event calendar & vendor lists
  • Provide timely and proactive status updates to MG Studio management team and in weekly team meetings
  • Assist in tidiness of event, office and storage areas
  • Assist in all other business aspects of MG Studio (e.g. forecasts, budgets, planning, operations, marketing, etc.)
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Requirements:
  • As this position is at the core of our event management business, the ideal candidate will be ambitious and highly detail-oriented with a passion for client service, organization and efficiency. The Event Sales Manager must interact on a regular basis with industry leaders and professionals, so the right person for this job must possess the proven ability to effectively communicate with clients and professionals of all levels.
  • Pass background, inclusive of Pre-Employment Drug Test
  • Clean driving record (no more than one violation, DUI, reckless driving, or any other serious driving offenses in the last 3 years)

Additional required skills and experience include:
  • Proven 2+ years' experience in Event Management, Sales, Hospitality or related field
  • Bachelor's degree (achieved or in progress) preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively
  • Self-starter, possesses the ability to work independently as well as contribute successfully within a team environment
  • Isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
  • Advanced skills in Excel & Outlook (experience with Salesforce is a plus)

Compensation:
  • $72k - $80k plus Commission
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, and education when applicable.
