Looking for a long-term knowledgeable and trustworthy individual for barn/horse care in Weldon Spring. Must be at least 18 years old. Evening feeding shifts take around 2 hours, typically from 5-7pm. There is an option to alternate Friday and weekend evening shifts with another employee. Weekend morning shifts take around 4.5 hours, typically from 8am-12:30pm.
Duties include feeding/watering, walking horses to/from pasture/turnout and basic care (fly spray, wound care, blanketing, etc). Must be detail oriented, able to follow direction and work independently, willing to work some holidays, in all weather conditions, have a valid driver's license/reliable transportation that can handle a hilly gravel road, a "can do" attitude, the ability to work on your feet, lift and carry 50+lbs.
Our facility is located on a large property so there is a lot of walking, some after dark. Horses can be unpredictable by nature, so interested candidates MUST have previous horse or large animal care/handling experience, understanding of equine behaviors as well as the ability to recognize emergency situations and act quickly.
This is not a riding opportunity.
