Metro Esports is seeking an Esports Coach / Program Lead who will primarily function within a project/program-based setting, working closely with schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. This role is crucial for expanding our reach and impact within the community, ensuring that our programs not only cater to competitive gaming enthusiasts but also to those interested in exploring the esports industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead esports programs and initiatives, focusing on competitive gaming and industry knowledge.
- Utilize Metro Esports proprietary curriculum and Learning Management Software (LMS) to provide instruction, drills, and activities
- Work directly with students and groups, providing coaching, mentorship, and instruction in esports.
- Utilize platforms like Discord to facilitate communication, organize events, and build a community among participants.
- Ensure programs are designed to be inclusive and engaging, catering to a diverse range of participants with varying levels of gaming expertise.
- Organize and oversee esports tournaments, leagues, and other competitive events, ensuring a professional and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Communicate with school representatives to promote esports programs and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the esports industry, including trends, games, and educational opportunities.
- Provide support and instruction to participants, helping them to develop their gaming skills as well as their understanding of the esports industry.
Qualifications:
- A strong passion for gaming and esports, with esports experience being highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of the esports industry and current trends.
- Familiarity with gaming platforms and software, especially Discord.
- Comfortable working with and leading groups of students
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
