Alexandria Technical & Community College is seeking a Head eSports Coach for the upcoming 2024/2025 academic year. Position is open until filled.
Responsibilities
eSports Head Coach will work with players to identify their strengths and weaknesses, motivate and encourage them, and help provide the necessary support to compete at a high level. The Head Coach also coordinates different games, meeting times, practices, and competitions. The Head Coach does not need to be well-versed in every game, but must have the ability to learn the requirements, demands, and general strategies for each genre.
Duties include:
- Recruit and retain students for the esports program. Coordinate players, various games, practices, meeting times/dates, competitions. Collaborate with other college departments, such as marketing, IT, admissions. Oversee and manage esports program budget. Offer feedback and place requests for equipment and other technology needs. Recommend participation in associations such as NJCAAe or NACE. Conduct camps, clinics, high school partnerships, or other promotional events to market the program. Maintain the eSports lab for security, cleanliness, and overall supervision/care. Hire and schedule work study students to help with eSports lab coverage and game coordination.
Qualifications
- At least one year competitive eSports experience as player or coach High communication and coordination skills
