Collins Aerospace is looking for an Equipment Engineer to join the Engine Build-Up (EBU) Team. You will be responsible for overseeing the suppliers for the anti-ice and pneumatics systems and ensure the product meets all internal and customer requirements. You will also gain experience in qualification testing, system validation and verification, and certification of aerospace systems. In addition, you will be interacting with global teams for our internal and external customers.

Position will need to work in a Hybrid capacity, a mix of onsite and remote work from home, at our Chula Vista CA facility. Relocation assistance available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • You would be the primary focal for the assigned anti-ice and pneumatic system product line
  • Work in a team environment, performing requirements analysis and systems engineering
  • Facilitate and drive the resolution of technical issues
  • Support manufacturing concessions and engineering change requests
  • Supports program and technical reviews as and when required. This includes, but is not limited to customer design reviews, relevant step back reviews and technical issue discussions
  • Drive read across of technical lessons learned on the assigned mechanical system
  • Prepares and submits xClass and TEXPORT requests for their own documents, as necessary
  • Actively and fully participates in daily meetings
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to leadership
  • Travel up to 5% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and typically less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • 1 to 3 years of industry experience in mechanical design activities (Intern and Co-Op positions)
  • Experience with 2D & 3D design software
  • MS Office experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CATIA V5 or equivalent software
  • Experience with design and qualification requirements for aircraft propulsion systems
  • Knowledge regarding turbine engines including compressor stages and bleed air
  • Knowledge working in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Strong Technical Writing experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, CORE or ACE
  • Knowledge of Engine Build-UP (EBU) within the Aerospace industry
  • Knowledge of equipment and design engineering along with qualification testing, system validation and verification

The salary range for this role is 52,000 USD - 98,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
