Alpine Building Performance, LLC is seeking an entry level Environmental Testing Technician. No prior experience necessary and all training and certifications will be performed on the job. As our Environmental Testing Technician, you will be driving throughout the Denver Metro area on a daily basis, 50% of the time or more, to set and collect radon tests kits for our clients, collect air samples for mold testing, and conduct water quality assessments at select locations. Mold air tests and water quality tests are typically conducted in conjunction with the radon test appointments as a part of ABP’s Home Health Package. Work will be conducted independently with little interaction with the team aside from appointment coordination and communication.

We are looking for a self-starter to mainly carry out Home Health Packages that’s eager to build and grow their reputation for the highest quality of customer service through these important field services with our company. This position also offers potential to grow as a professional in the environmental field. Our goal would be for the Environmental Testing Technician to have serious interest in becoming state certified in lead and asbestos inspection to support our Environmental Consulting Manager. The Owner is an InterNACHI Certified Master Home Inspector and Home Energy Auditor. He was awarded the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS 2022 Industry Partner of the year. He holds a B.S in Building Science and Construction Management from Appalachian State University and continues to build on 10 years of experience in the home building, home inspection, remodeling and energy efficiency consulting industries. In this position, you will be working side by side getting top-notch training and guidance as you help grow the company. ABP is bringing a modern approach to the industry, while retaining timeless customer service values and quality home inspections.
Location: The position is primarily field based and will require a significant amount of travel within the Denver Metro Area. Operations will be conducted from Denver’s one and only construction focused co-working space, Tradecraft Industries located at 6145 Broadway Denver, CO 80216.
Required Knowledge & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent (or higher)
Strong interest in becoming a state certified lead and asbestos inspector
Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments
Punctual
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work well in small team with sometimes very limited direction
Ability to make a good impression on customers through professionalism, communication, efficiency, problem solving, and expertise on all related environmental inquiries
A great attitude, good presence, and energy
Have the aptitude and mental ability to problem solve and conduct professional conversations with real estate agents and customers
Strong attention to detail
Willingness and ability to pass NRSB Radon Measurement Technician Exam
Willingness and ability to learn quickly with guided training
Willingness to obtain mold test training
Ability to pass all employment screening (Required to authorize background and driving record check)
Effective use of personal computer and Windows operating system, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) – Prior knowledge of Google Apps is preferred and will be required to use Google Drive and Google Workspace products such as google docs.
Must be able to learn and effectively use Spectora Reporting software to organize scheduling entries. Training on the software will be provided.
Must be able to learn and effectively use SunRadon Reporting software to produce reports. Training on the software will be provided.
Must be able to learn and effectively use our radon testing machines. Training on the use of these machines will be provided.
Must be able to learn and effectively manage our fleet of radon testing machines including sending in machines for calibration and service. Training on the use of these machines will be provided.
Must be able to learn and effectively use our mold testing equipment. Training on the use of these machines will be provided.
Must have a reliable vehicle, maintain it in a clean and professional manner, with registration up to date. Must be able to transport radon inspection equipment which will fit in any vehicle.
The position requires a significant amount of local travel within the Denver Metro Area
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license, a clean driving record and auto insurance
