Lynker anticipates needing to hire an Environmental Scientist/Planner to grow our environmental and natural resources permitting and compliance capacity. This position primarily reports to Lynker's Vice President, Ecosystem Science and Management Group - West Coast and Pacific Islands Division.
Job Description
This full-time role involves helping Lynker's Ecosystem Science and Management Group - West Coast and Pacific Islands Division - leverage its strength and expertise in coastal, marine, and fisheries science, policy, and management to pursue terrestrial conservation work at the local, state, and federal levels. This is a new role within our Division. Anticipated responsibilities include:
Preparing environmental documents in accordance with jurisdictional environmental policy statutes/regulations and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), including Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments.
Managing environmental analyses tasks for funded projects.
Overseeing technical reviews of analyses for quality assurance.
Contributing technical subject matter expertise related to the ecological/biophysical aspects during environmental reviews.
Coordinate multidisciplinary authors contributing to environmental documents, including cultural or social aspects of environmental reviews.
Permit application and report preparation for local, state and federal agencies.
Facilitate agency consultations and assist with the presentation of information at public outreach meetings and hearings.
Track relevant local, state or federal regulatory programs and guidance for applicability to ongoing projects.
Assist with proposal writing and business development, including reviewing and responding to NEPA-focused or related RFPs.
Requirements
8+ years of relevant environmental assessment and permitting experience, with an emphasis on NEPA.
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental science, natural resources conservation, ecology, environmental planning, or a related discipline.
Ability to apply inter-related regulatory programs to specific projects.
Excellent verbal and technical; written communication skills.
Experience in coordination and production of extensive documents.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple simultaneous work assignments.
Preferred Requirements
Be physically located in the U.S. West Coast, Alaska, or the U.S. Insular Pacific.
