Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. has a full-time opening for an experienced Staff Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist in our Issaquah or Seattle, Washington offices.

We are looking for a motivated and talented Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our firm in our Issaquah or Seattle, Washington offices. What you will be doing at Farallon:

  • Collecting samples of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media in support of site investigation and remediation objectives.
  • Installing monitoring wells, performing remediation monitoring, and overseeing contractors.
  • Assisting in preparing various regulatory submittals, technical memorandums, and/or engineering design reports.
  • Managing, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data for use in reports and other visualizations, including maps, charts, and 3D models.
  • Travel to job sites is required to support ongoing and potential project work activities.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Earth Sciences or a related field.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to assertively direct others in the field such as subcontracted drillers, excavation contractors, utility locators, and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work hours.
  • Ability to analyze data and applying problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and complete basic reporting and paperwork tasks.
  • Knowledge of appropriate state regulations, including appropriate health and safety regulations required to perform typical field and office tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform field work and a wide range of physical activities, including sustained walking, standing, and reaching, in an outdoor environment.
  • Must be able to wear respiratory protection and pass baseline physical for job position.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120).
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.

Pay Range

Our best estimate of the base salary range for this position, located in the Seattle, Washington metro area area is $65,000 – $85,000. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. Farallon reviews and updates salary ranges annually, and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Farallon’s total compensation package for our employee-owners.
