Responsibilities

As an Environmental Science Intern, you will assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work in the following areas:

  • Apply professional environmental/engineering skills to meet project team and client needs for defining, evaluating, and implementing environmental compliance and permitting projects
  • Identify the environmental requirements that apply to electric power related projects, including electric power generating stations, substations, and transmission line projects
  • Work with project engineers to ensure projects are designed and developed using criteria that recognize all relevant environmental requirements
  • Prepare permit applications for state and local permitting agencies
  • Prepare complex technical reports including site selection studies, environmental and social impact assessments, compliance audits, and regulatory reviews
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • Must have an expected graduation date in December 2024 or Spring 2025 toward a BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field, MS preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and regulatory agencies

 Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and permitting for complex industrial projects, and/or environmental laws and regulations that apply to large industrial facilities
