Job Brief
This role assists members of SRP's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team and completes project work on DEI initiatives. The duties require general knowledge such as coordination of logistics, analytical skills, use of various software and web applications, general administration, communications and presentations, training, business and other non-scientific fields. The DEI intern can expect to learn about DEI, Human Resources (HR) practices, and general business.
This role reports to the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager.
Job Responsibilities

  • Collect and communicate DEI metrics and milestones including assisting with compiling the DEI Annual Report
  • Collaborate with internal departments including HR, Community Partnerships and Communications on DEI projects.
  • Coordinate with internal HR teams to create, design and monitor communications and event logistics.
  • Conduct research related to DEI topics and issues and present findings to team and internal partners.
  • Input, organize and manage data using Excel, SharePoint, learning management system and other platforms used by DEI team.
  • Support coordination, logistics and recordkeeping for DEI learning opportunities. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and other DEI initiatives
  • Schedule and organize DEI team events.

Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

Pay Structure/Hours/Hybrid Workplace
  • This is a paid opportunity for a student working a minimum of 20 hours per week. However, work hours and schedules may fluctuate based on departmental needs.
  • College level coursework (200+) or Graduate programs from an accredited institution will be evaluated according to the skill/level to assess if applicable to the position by management.
  • Pay rate is $18.00 per hour for an undergraduate intern and $20.00 per hour for a graduate intern.

Preferred Skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Preferred candidates will be pursuing a course of study in Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Organization Development or a related field of study.
  • SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Learning management system experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership or membership/partnership in groups promoting cultural awareness or DEI preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will be pursuing a course of study in Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Organization Development or a related field of study.
  • Organized and effective communication skills.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
