SALARY: $57,000 - $65,000 with potential annual bonus

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor will be accountable for directing and implementing company EHS programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, standards and requirements. This position will be relied upon to establish a proactive safety environment and culture.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Implements safety improvement initiatives and the daily management of ongoing safety and health operations.
- Liaison for senior management team regarding the Safety and Health strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues.
- May represent the facility to external regulatory agencies i.e., EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.
- Leads environmental and sustainability community outreach programs that contribute to the company's image.
- Directs activities and conducts risk assessments to identify and control safety and environmental risks to reduce injury and costs.
- Supports team members to continuously improve safety and environmental compliance and achievements.
- Manage key EHS inventories and inspections such as the following: chemical inventory, ladder inventory, fall protection equipment inventory, spill kit supplies, and others.
- Assists with environmental (e.g., stormwater) sampling and safety and health monitoring.
- Participates in and/or leads Safety and Environmental Committees.
- Proactively and independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to inventory and budget for supplies for required safety and environmental tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office-related software.
- Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and follow-up skills.
- Presentation skills for staff and team member events.
- Problem solving skills including Risk Assessment and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong written, oral and listening communication skills. Ability to influence and skills to coach all levels within the facility.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or associate degree related to Occupational Safety, Environmental, or Natural Sciences; or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3+ years of related EHS work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- OSHA 30 Hour certified within 6 months of hire date.
- Federal and State occupational health, safety and environmental knowledge preferred.
- Conducts work in a sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time standing and/or walking. Walking surfaces may be wet and/or slippery.
- Working conditions may be hazardous at times, potentially placing the individual in conditions applicable to each position in the organization.
