Responsibilities:Provides environmental, Health and Safety support and training. Develops, implements, and maintains facility’s environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs for successful compliance to applicable standards, local codes, state laws, federal regulations and corporate requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with the Implementation, and management EH&S programs, policies, and procedures
- Keeps up to date on, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EH&S regulations, rules, and standards
- Conducts inspections and audits of the facility to ensure compliance with established rules, regulations, and policies. Follows up on identified issues and corrective actions.
- Assists in EH&S inspections/audits by regulatory agencies
- Ensures corrective actions are tracked to completion for internal audit findings, regulatory agency findings/recommendations, and/or notices of violations
- Evaluates and makes recommendations on new chemicals, equipment, processes, and facility changes
- Coordinates, and performs industrial hygiene testing to monitor employee workplace exposure to hazardous materials
- Reviews injury/illness event(s) and/or report(s) and assures corrective action implementation to mitigate future occurrences
- Develops, updates, and deploys EH&S training modules and maintains the EH&S training database
- Participates in Emergency Response Team as a Technical Expert
- Performs workplace ergonomic evaluations, safety inspections, and PPE assessments
- Other job responsibilities as Directed by the EH&S Manager.
- Assists in the radiation monitoring program.
- Organizes Regular inspection of the ventilations systems and lab hoods.
- BS degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field
- 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge and training in respiratory protection, lockout/tag out, high/low voltage electrical safety, and confined space rescue
- Knowledge and training in hazardous material handling
- Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid, 24-Hour HAZWOPER, Respiratory Protection Officer, Radiation Safety Officer, and Laser Safety Officer preferred.
- Title V Air quality permit Experience preferred.
- Efficient in all Microsoft Office programs
- Good written and verbal communication skills
