Job description

Grey Street Consulting, LLC (Grey Street), a leading small business provider of Acquisition operational support services to Federal civilian and defense agencies, is seeking to hire an Entry-Level Contract Specialist to support our clients within the Export-Import Bank of the United States Federal Government.

EXIM is located in Washington, DC and this position is being performed in a Hybrid capacity. Candidates need to be agreeable to the possibility of the government returning staff on-site, potentially multiple days per pay period in the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Entry Level Contract Specialist (CS) is to perform daily functions related to acquisitions - procurements to meet organizational needs. They must work closely with others to support any acquisition - procurement functions.

· Immediately become familiar with systems and procedures - processes associated with acquisitions - procurements (SharePoint, ComprizonSuite, FPDS-NG, SAM.gov, and other systems as identified).

· The organizing of information from multiple sources and assimilating information into a cohesive story to solidify the spending of funds. This requires a dedication to attention of details as well as the bigger picture in meeting the mission of an agency, organization, and the federal government with outcome-focused forethought.

· Aspects of business acumen and an innate understanding of business and administrative management of a contract and obligations therein to determine best value must be demonstrated and applied based on life-lessons and education. This may involve evaluation of business alternatives, socioeconomic status, market conditions, financial impacts for all parties, and a multitude of other considerations directly linked to business acumen and/or legal ramifications.

· Understanding of the terms and conditions of a legally binding obligation, delivery, performance, and administration to mitigate risks to the federal government but also maintain mutually beneficial relationships for all parties.

· Characteristics of a Contract Specialist is demonstrated through a sense of dedication to the application of information and workload organization along with a moral application in workload management and demonstrated work products submitted and regular participant communications with colleagues and advisors.

· Ability to use examples in creating a desired end-work-product that is sufficient to receive feedback on and self-analysis to troubleshoot and problem-solve better results.

· Analytical, logical thinking, solutions oriented, with an ability to investigate and present more than one alternative is a must.

· Elemental importance in the ability to read, research, integrate multiple and conflicting regulations and laws to make a stand on a particular topic related to work and logically present this information to advisors and others.

· Work products and work processes must demonstrate a professional grasp and application in: MS Word, MS Excel (pivot tables and charts), MS PowerPoint, PlainLanguage.gov and 508 compliance concepts and benefits, work/process flows, and other.

General Activities and Responsibilities

  • - Learn through the conducting of price analysis based on contract pricing information. Intern is expected to calculate discounts and compute totals in MS Excel.
  • Planning- Learn through compiling information from various documents that are a part of the overall Acquisition Planning and Market Research process.
  • Contract Types [FFP / FFP LoE / LH]- Learn about the various contract types through the development of presentation.
  • - Learn about the contract award process through working on specific pre- and post- award documents and data gathering and input of information into computer databases in addition to drafting paperwork for submission and review to the contracting officer such as option period modifications.
  • - Construct overview presentations that will be used for a future lunch and learn sessions or other requirements.
  • - Construct flowcharts, diagrams, and matrices to visually layout processes and steps.
  • - Flexibility, problem-solving, and ability to grasp skills to work through and perform unfamiliar work functions.

Job Requirements and Experience

· Must have a minimum of 0-3 years of Contract experience.

· A minimum of an Associate’s Degree.

· Certifications and targeted skills associated with this labor category (preferred).

· Microsoft Office or 365 experience (preferred).

· Capability of learning additional software that may be required for the position.

ADA Requirements

  • Operate a PC and phone in an office environment.
  • Work in a primarily sedentary position.
  • Perform some bending, light lifting, and carrying of equipment may be required.
  • Any additional office equipment that is required by the position.
