If you’re looking to be a part of a high performing, collaborative, and dedicated team, M Financial Group is in search of our next Enterprise Risk Management Director to join our team.

The Director of ERM will be responsible for completing the work associated with our organization's efforts in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various areas of business. This role will develop and provide recommendations regarding the creation of our ERM strategy and work to implement the final recommendations, provide Risk Management support and guidance, and will work with leaders across the company, particularly with Internal Audit, to apply risk control strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES         

  • Recommend and implement the Enterprise Risk Management strategy, policies, and procedures, aligning them with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and monitor risks that could impact the organization's objectives.
  • Implement risk assessment processes, scenario analyses, and stress tests to proactively identify vulnerabilities and potential impact.
  • Recommend the design of and implement risk mitigation strategies that align with the organization's risk tolerance and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct the efforts related to internal and external risk reporting to facilitate informed decision-making aligned with the overall ERM strategy.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture by promoting risk awareness and education throughout the organization.
  • Direct the development and maintenance of Risk Management tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners, auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective risk communication.
  • Stay updated on emerging risks, industry trends, and best practices in Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Risk Management processes, adapting them to evolving business needs and risk landscapes

QUALIFICATIONS           

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Proven track record (typically 7+ years) in Enterprise Risk Management, preferably within a complex and regulated industry; insurance or healthcare industry, and financial services industry experience a plus
  • Professional designation such as Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM) or Associate/Fellow of recognized actuarial organizations (e.g., SOA, CAS) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data to identify trends and insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex risk information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative and influential, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, risk modeling, and risk reporting.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management software and tools is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with information technology industry and platforms
  • Experience in leading and developing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.

JOB CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT 

  • Normal office environment/desk assignment
  • Extensive use of PC’s, computer terminal, display, keyboard, and mouse
  • Extensive hands-on work with documents, spreadsheets, and analytical software
  • Period travel required 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience, knowledge, and skills.
You will also be eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
