Technology & Cybersecurity Operational Risk Management (Tech & Cyber ORM) is a firm-wide group within Risk Management with second line of defense oversight responsibility for technology and cybersecurity risk.  Tech & Cyber ORM develops and reports an independent view of these risks to the Chief Risk Officer, firm management, and Board of Directors using multiple frameworks, testing, and monitoring methodologies.  The team is comprised of members from Risk Management disciplines, as well as experienced technology development and infrastructure.

As a Technology Operational Risk Management Director, you will be part of an organization that develops products and platforms that enables, modernizes and enhances the productivity and experience of our nearly 300,000 global employees including Collaboration & Communication, Employee Compute, Employee Insights, Human Resources, Core Data Platforms, Workplace Technology Solutions, and Help & Request Services. 

The Operational Risk team monitors and tests for risks and control deficiencies within EP applications, infrastructure, products and services.  The Empployee Platforms  Operational Risk Lead reports directly into the Technology Operational Risk Officer and is responsible for analysis and identification of Operational Risks to business processes.  

Job Responsibilities 

  • Work with EP software developers, engineers and product owners to evaluate technology and cyber security risks of their use cases and platforms
  • Requires an experienced technology leader with skills such as SRE, testing or a passion for non-functional requirements that translate well into Operational Risk Management.
  • Evaluate the latest industry practices, such as NIST, and regulatory positions on AI/ML
  • Participate in AI/ML governance forums
  • Assess the adequacy of AI/ML controls in platforms and their execution by the firm's businesses
  • Partner and advise internal teams of thematic deficiencies in the firm's strategic workplace technology platforms
  • Perform independent assessment of Operational Risks through the Operational Risk monitoring program (e.g., monitoring reviews, risk metrics, Operational Risk appetite, independent Risk Management assessments)
  • Coordination and key participation in the development of the risk position of emerging technology adoption such as IoT and AR/VR

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Strong experience in a senior engineer or developer role
  • Relevant experience in workplace technology solutions
  • Experience of implementing and integrating third party solutions, both SaaS and on-premise hosted
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies
  • Understanding of technology development lifecycles
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems, the business processes they support and synthesize the corresponding risks and controls.
  • Ability to transition between business and technical discussion
  • Able to develop constructive relationships with technology and business partners
