This position performs high level technical and administrative functions in support of Graphic Information Systems (GIS) and engineering design software for surface water resources and storm drain and sanitary sewer utility systems. We have well-established tasks and opportunities to create and improve processes.
Work Location - This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.
1. Enter data into ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
2. Process output data from other software for display in ArcGIS.
3. Process paper and digital documents such as construction plans, redlines, and as-builts to transfer the data to GIS.
4. Analyze GIS data to support flood studies and sewer design.
5. Develop maps and related materials for meetings and reports.
6. Collect field data.
7. Collaborate with customers and others.Minimum Education
Associate Degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources, Geographic Information Systems, Drafting, or Engineering Technology, or related field.
Minimum Experience
Three years of related experience.
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience (100%). It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. Eligible List Statement
The names of applicants who meet minimum qualification and who pass the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration. This list will be certified to the hiring manager who may use the list to fill a vacancy of the same job title. This eligible list will expire One month after it has been established.

12. Basic knowledge of computer languages such as Python, VBA, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Arcade.
13. Good verbal and written communication skills.
The city will provide on the job training in techniques and procedures related to our systems. Desired skills and skills you are expected to develop:
- Knowledge of civil engineering planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
- Experience programming in GIS with Python
- Create mapping and analysis solutions using ArcGIS Online.
- Knowledge of stormwater management concepts and design.
- Ability to train others to use engineering and mapping software.
