Your Role at Baxter

Join our cutting-edge team as an Engineering Specialist, R&D Engineer and take the lead on product development related aspects of change controls, testing, and qualification for disposable devices! As a key member of our dynamic team, you'll work closely with Baxter's Integrated Supply Chain Organization to drive efficiencies across our diverse manufacturing network and support programs that deliver game-changing results.
What you'll be doing:
In this role, you'll leverage your in-depth knowledge and technical expertise to optimize and enhance product design and cost, identifying and analyzing new opportunities that achieve cost-effective solutions and satisfy performance requirements. You'll be the go-to person for timely communication of key information and recommendations that influence technical decisions and strategies, and you'll define product requirements and develop specifications that meet manufacturing, marketing, and customer expectations.
As a creative problem-solver, you'll be constantly seeking out new and innovative approaches to solve technical problems on a consistent basis, and you'll create and communicate project plans, tasks, and deliverables to manage time and meet project deadlines. Your ability to anticipate technical challenges and risk scenarios, and prepare, manage, and execute mitigation strategies, will be essential to ensuring optimal results.
In addition to your technical expertise, you'll be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to perform within a cross-functional team environment and draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied functions. You'll be authoring technical reports and rationales, and designing to meet regulatory requirements as determined by FDA, ISO, and IEC standards.
What you'll bring:
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering (10+ years of experience) or a Master's degree (8+ years of experience)
  • A proven track record of delivering results on technical challenges, with strong investigative and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to solve product design, engineering, and material problems with minimal assistance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to perform within a cross-functional team environment

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 to $187,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
