What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be accountable for a team of external and internal resources responsible for delivering GMP Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) support for a portfolio of GMP capital projects at the Amgen Holly Springs, North Carolina site. In this role, you may serve directly as the Commissioning and Qualification Lead for business-critical projects.
- Establishing safety culture and demonstrating safety by example
- Selecting and retaining impactful C&Q firms and professionals
- Figuring out C&Q project objectives and establishing execution plans, consistent with company priorities and policies
- Supporting and leading project teams through design, procurement, construction, and Commissioning & Qualification planning and execution
- Support preparation of project funding documents with scope, cash flow, schedule, and deliverables for the C&Q effort.
- Leading contract C&Q partner evaluation and selection process
- Reviewing and approving C&Q proposals and cost estimates and establishing earned value tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation of commissioning and qualification process for improved quality and efficiency

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR
- Associates degree and 10 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR
- Bachelors degree and 8 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR
- Masters degree and 6 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience
- AND in addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or advising the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the application of C&Q project management skills and concepts with an understanding of large molecule bioprocessing systems.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness with the ability to problem solve using practical solutions
- Possesses interpersonal skills to work with technical, scientific and management internal user groups
- Ability to prioritize tasks and conflicting priorities across a broad range of facilities and engineering subject areas
- Excellent communication skills featuring a demonstrated supervisory style that fits within the Amgen culture and values
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to tactfully negotiate and positively influence peers and executive leadership
- Effective oral, visual and written communication skills with the ability to listen optimally
- Resilience and flexibility with the ability to react to changes quickly, and the ability to apply knowledge to new problems and new contexts
