Job Summary:

As Manager of Engineering, your priority is overseeing an engineering team who is focused on engineering advanced fiber networks. This position acts as a leader of the engineering services department to ensure proper re-sourcing, on-time delivery to our customers, and quality of work standards.

What You Get to Do (Duties/Responsibilities):

· Develop and maintain an accurate Workload Forecast based upon all project specific staffing plans, prospects, and ongoing client needs.

· Work with the project management and leadership to maintain customer relationships to meet specific market needs.

· Manages key stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure expectations are met.

· Evaluate overall workforce development strategy and work with Director/VP of Engineering and Human Resources to ensure training and development plans align with growth objectives.

· Engage and closely work with multiple Engineering vendors to complete detailed designs for approved projects.

· Develop and monitor employee performance KPI’s working with project managers for monitoring and reporting.

· Ensures QC, compliance, and permitting regulations are followed on all projects.

· Lead, coach and develop subordinate leaders and staff, which includes timely and regular feedback to employees and conducting quarterly performance reviews.

· Work with peers and senior management to ensure development and implementation of processes and tools are aligned with business and project goals.

· Ensure efficient labor utilization within the organization and through cross practice resource sharing.

· Acts as a driver for innovation and implementation of best practices.

· Enhance, develop, and enforce policies and procedures; analyze established systems to improve overall operation and effectiveness.

What We Are Searching For (Required Skills/Abilities):

· GIS Analysis Certification preferred.

· Understanding of ESRI ARCGIS, and/or Comsf preferred.

· Expert level understanding of Telecom/Fiber, Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), and related construction methods (Aerial, UG, Boring, Plowing, Trenching, Micro-trenching).

· Expert level working knowledge of engineering FTTx, including GPON technology.

· Experience with telecommunication engineering in a GIS based system.

· Experience and understanding of Rights of Way (ROW), permitting, and pole attachments.

· Working knowledge governing codes, such as, NESC code and GO95.

· Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.

· Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.

· Demonstrated ability to build and develop strong teams.

· Excellent verbal and written communication.

· Excellent time management and organization.

· Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies.

· Ability to travel to meetings and conferences.

Education/Certifications/Experience:

· 8+ years of experience with telecommunication fiber engineering.

· 4+ years of experience managing.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
