Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern II to be based in Akron, Ohio.

This position is expected to begin in May or June 2024.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelors in Civil Engineering

  • Must have completed 2 years of study in the applicable program

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preliminary Structural Engineering courses are preferred, such as but not limited to Structural Analysis and Mechanics of Materials.

  • A desire to gain experience in bridge design and inspection is preferred

Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $18.59 - 32.51/hr
