What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborating with the Data Engineering team to develop and maintain data pipelines for various data sources.
- Supporting data quality initiatives by performing data validation, cleansing, and error handling tasks.
- Assisting in data analysis tasks, including data profiling and exploration to uncover insights and trends.
- Participating in data-related projects, such as data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing.
- Documenting data processes and workflows to maintain data governance and best practices.
- Providing support for troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues or discrepancies.
- Learning and applying Data Engineering tools and technologies under the guidance of experienced team members.
What we are looking for:
Our ideal candidate for the Data Engineer Intern position should be a computer science or related degree student, preferably in their second or third year. They should have a strong foundation in Python and SQL and a genuine passion for data and Data Engineering. We value candidates who are eager to learn and contribute to practical aspects like data processing and ETL. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and adaptability in a dynamic environment are essential. The candidate should be a collaborative team player while demonstrating independence when needed. Ultimately, they should be enthusiastic about gaining hands-on Data Engineering experience during their internship.
Bonus Points:
- Proficiency in additional programming languages like Java or Scala.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
- Understanding of big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
- Exposure to machine learning or data science concepts and tools.
Education:
Junior or Senior year of college or advanced degree/certificate.
