Work Arrangement
Onsite - This position is required to be on site full time in Warren, Michigan. This role requires up to 75% travel, often with little notice. International travel is likely.
The Role
This leader will focus on the manufacturing electrical readiness throughout program quality gates. This role will work cross functionally to develop software validation process and standards which ensure program quality gates achieve success. Drive accountability and actions which enable plants to achieve manufacturing targets on the first build event.
This position will be a leader in the Global Manufacturing Electrical & Software Defined Vehicle organization. This is an integrated, technical organization consisting of members of various backgrounds across Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Product Development, and IT organizations focusing on electrical manufacturing performance in order to inspire customer confidence in GM’s vehicles.
What You Will Do
- Support Vehicle Software Readiness in order to launch and reflash on time and improve electrical first time quality.
- Capture standardized work and best practices in the Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) Launch Aid, the global vehicle development process (GVDP), and pre-production processes to move issue discovery and resolution “to the left,” especially for manufacturing of the future initiatives such as all-virtual by MY25 and future GVDPs
- Support plant launch electrical teams’ drive to manufacturing metrics (E-FTQ and electrical warranty on business plan deployment and other launch milestones amid EV launch pull ahead
- Support Lead Launch Electrical Coordinators and leverage problem solving and lessons learned from plant to plant and Engineering. Establish and drive process for sharing lessons learned and updating standards.
- Collaborate with Service organization as one team to define and verify service and repair procedures to work for the manufacturing sites and field
- Contribute expertise to the GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) training program curriculum development where applicable
- Find creative ideas to improve electrical launch execution and electrical quality performance
- You will participate in the selection of new employees
- Train, develop and evaluate employees
- Develop long-range plans for improvements of processes and manufacturing activities
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 8+ years of manufacturing-related experience
- 5+ years of experience working with vehicle electrical systems manufacturing processes and repair experience
- Proven experience leading teams focused on technical delivery
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, in relation to translating complex technical issues to non-technical people and Senior Leadership
