Engineering Configuration and Data Management
This engineering team is responsible for handling related Engineering Technical Data Rights and Intellectual Property (IP) (e.g., patents, copyrights, trade secrets) and software related items (e.g., source code, documentation, version descriptions) for US Govt Military / US DoD and is complex, requiring experienced team efforts including working extensively with contracts and legal.
The Configuration Manager / Engineering Configuration and Data Management Specialist establishes and maintains configuration processes. Communicates these processes, variations, and deviations to the aircraft program and coordinates, submits and maintains technical data and relevant processes. The Configuration Management Specialist ensures that data is marked appropriately and manages data transfer systems.
What you'll be doing as a Configuration Manager:
Review program Engineering Configuration control methodology and variances in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment (ENOVIA) and provide specific direction to data owners that will prevent process or system issues and to ensure proper standards and quality are established and maintained.Schedule and manage activities related to program or product-related change boards (e.g. Technical Review Board (TRB), Configuration Change Board (CCB), etc.) by providing direction to participants and stakeholders before, during and after the sessions.
Support Configuration Management (CM) reviews and audits, including FCA/PCA and provide direction before, during and after the events to prevent or resolve issues.
Monitor the stability and health of the Engineering Bill-of-Material and Planning Bill-of-Material for the assigned program and provide feedback to data owners regarding data issues.
Manage Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and Data Item Deliverable (DID) requirements.
Determine and apply the proper data marking to deliverable information.
Manage engineering data correction, consolidation, or system migration.
Skills You Bring To this Role:
Bachelor's Degree. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.At least 2 years of familiarity and demonstrated understanding of data determination and marking; including Intellectual Property (IP), data rights assertion, International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS).
Experience with SharePoint, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, and Data exchange systems is desired.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Proficiency with the Configuration Management principles and methods contained in ANSI/EIA 649, ISO 10007, and MIL-HDBK-61.Proficiency with the Data Management principles and methods contained in DI-SESS-81000E, DoD Directive 5230.24, and MIL-STD-31000.
Proficiency with Intellectual Property (IP) ownership and associated IP data marking.
Certification in configuration management is beneficial.
