We are adding to our production department and will be hiring an Engineer II to join our team! In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager, and will be responsible for planning, managing, and organizing the operations within our production facility by utilizing best practice engineering principles.
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage the quality improvement process by:

  • Ensuring operations are running within standard quality specifications through constant monitoring;
  • Ensuring operators are properly documenting all activity and results;
  • Monitoring all associated machinery to ensure that it is running within established set point parameters;
  • Troubleshooting problems and making adjustments to process to maintain and/or improve quality.

Design and implement process improvements to improve operations efficiency and product cost by:
  • Analyzing process performance issues and developing plans to improve;
  • Analyzing data and determining inconsistencies in processing;
  • Assessing operations to propose and implement ideas to improve employee working conditions.

Understand and manage the maintenance within the department by:
  • Working with the Maintenance Manager and Planner to ensure that the department has a preventive maintenance (PM) plan and follows up on the plan to ensure proper implementations
  • Communicating equipment parts needs with the Maintenance Department to ensure that the department has adequate spare parts for critical areas;
  • Working closely with Maintenance Technicians to ensure all mechanical issues are addressed and resolved;
  • Providing training and documentation to Maintenance Technicians regarding raw material equipment.

Actively lead and support the plant's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S)program by:
  • Pursuing the knowledge necessary to fully understand the environmental issues associated with the production process;
  • Monitoring process conditions to ensure that they comply within environmental regulations;
  • Assisting the EH&S Manager to resolve any potential environmental compliance issues, including excursions (tank overflow) and waste water treatment;
  • Conducting "safety huddles" to address non-routine safety tasks; monitoring and addressing safety conditions and behaviors; and participating in safety audits and meetings throughout the plant.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial, paper science).
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effectively and independently take action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment and successful stress tolerance.
  • Display strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others.
  • Ability to successfully navigate and use Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software.
  • Think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Successfully manage multiple tasks, and balance and prioritize workloads while paying attention to detail.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented team player with a strong sense of urgency, positive attitude and an ability to adapt to change
