All Hospital staff starting after March 15, 2022 will be required to have received, one dose of a single-dose vaccine or
at least the first dose of a multiple-dose vaccine series, or have been granted a qualifying exemption, or identified as having a
temporary delay as recommended by the CDC prior to providing any care, treatment or other services for the Hospital
and/or its patients. The vaccine will be administered by the Hospital if the new staff member does not provide a valid
vaccination card.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing optimum environmental conditions through operating and maintaining building systems meeting or exceeding all codes and regulations in a professional, courteous manner. Makes adjustments and repairs to plumbing heating, air-conditioning, and electrical systems on hospital buildings and it's parcels with limited assistance.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)
- Cleans hospital vehicles, drains sewers, boilers, pipes, air-conditioning units, electrical systems, and assists in moving heavy machines, furniture, and equipment.
- Deliver large tanks of various gases to Surgery, Central Service, and Laboratory, on an as needed basis, when advised by user department.
- Maintains steps, entrances, sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots, keeping them free of snow and ice during winter months.
- Operates hospital vehicles in a safe manner.
- Performs boiler feed water tests using specific chemicals, daily tests and treats boiler water.
- Removes water sample and applies chemical softeners as needed in the domestic water system.
- Performs daily routine custodial duties in Plant Operations.
- Responds in a professional and orderly fashion to hospital emergencies.
- Responds to routine requisitions for service.
- Replaces worn and defective parts as directed by Plant Operations Supervisor.
- Responsible for routine oiling and greasing of moving mechanisms, cleans filters on air handling units, runs the emergency generators, checks fire safety systems, and inspects equipment as set forth in the preventative maintenance program.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Trade school in mechanical or electrical repairs a plus.
- Must be able to pass mandatory fit test for breathing apparatus.
- Must have a valid driver license and pass insurance investigation.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be able to hear audible sounds.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints related to mechanical systems.
- Ability to make adjustments and repairs using the knowledge of mechanical principles.
- Trade school in mechanical or electrical repairs a plus.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
- Experience in power plant, building and equipment repairs in an industrial setting.
- 3 Plant Operations and Repair Required
