Senior Geologist - Senior Environmental Engineer
Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent) is looking to hire an organized, full-time, Senior Geologist or Senior Environmental Engineer to help Broadbent open a Sacramento area office and assume the role of Sacramento Office Manager. The position would include managing a start-up office, developing new business, and overseeing a wide variety of complex, environmental related projects with special emphasis on federal regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, SARA, as well as State of California and local environmental regulations including NEPA/CEQA. This is a nice opportunity to be part of developing a new office for an existing, high quality, full service environmental firm in a major metropolitan area.

A day in the Life of a Senior Professional at Broadbent
As a Senior-level professional, you are the engine of our business. Your hard work ensures that we deliver for our clients. In the role of Sacramento Office Manager, you daily activities will include:
- Preparation and/or review of work plans, technical documents, and reports for clientele and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Preparation and/or review of proposals for a wide variety of clientele
- Prospect and new client development
- Staff development and management
- General project management and budget tracking
- Conduct regular field visits to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate health and safety procedures are being followed
- Review and approval of supplier proposals and invoices
Your people skills are essential as you interact regularly with local and national clientele as well as regulatory agencies. Though you do spend time in the field, you also make sure to keep with your administrative responsibilities. Ensuring that clients are happy and that all jobs are delivered on-time and on-budget gives you a great sense of accomplishment!
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or related field
- Professional Registration as a PG, PHG or PE in California
- 7+ years of experience in geological assessments, water supply, water treatment, environmental assessments, contaminant investigation and remediation, stormwater management, wastewater treatment, permitting projects, or compliance projects in the public and private sectors
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and successful experience interacting with governmental regulatory agencies
- Demonstrated ability to properly manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring compliance with deliverable timelines
- Ability to travel within the western regional US
- Business Development: relationship-building skills that can help expand our client base

- In-depth experience with service line specific cost projections, budget preparation and tracking

WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
This full-time position typically works Monday - Friday with some traveling and weekend work. This position is for the Sacramento, CA area with a service area covering all of northern California and beyond.
