SUMMARY: 

The Welder / Fabricator role will directly support the fabrication and welding of frames and components for our Internal equipment build business as well as general operations support.  This role requires collaboration with the entire metal fabrication team as well as the Mechanical Designers to produce a quality product on time and on budget.  Participation in design reviews and coordination with the maintenance planner for the area will be key in this role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform welding in MIG, TIG and Arc Welding
• Operate necessary tools for cutting material such as cold saws and band saws
• Evaluate and interpret prints and mechanical design intent
• Participate in design reviews and planning scheduling events
• Operate PIT, Bridge and Jib crane / hoist
• Communicate timelines to planner and build group
• Support operations with on site weld repairs and improvements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

• 2 year degree or technical diploma in Welding discipline or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Mig, Tig and Arc welding
• Fabrication and fitment best practice experience
• Mechanical aptitude and mechanical design knowledge
• Excellent communication skills
• Self motivated with excellent time management skills
• Willingness to support other trades as needed

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS 

• 5 years experience in a metal fabrication role
• Proficient in Mig, Tig and arc welding
• Rigging experience
• Knowledge of metal properties      

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS 

• Mechanical design experience
• Power transmission knowledge
• Machining experience

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
