ANDERSEN’S CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER will be an experienced executive leader with a track record in developing and leading diverse and robust sustainability programs. They will have a desire to elevate existing sustainability processes, embed sustainability into Andersen’s business decisions and create a culture of engaging sustainability education across our enterprise. Our Chief Sustainability Officer will be an energetic and collaborative leader that will embrace Andersen’s values and purpose. They will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, have a natural ability to build trust, inspire people and be committed to fostering an inclusive work culture.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish Andersen as the market leader in sustainability as measured by our customers, our employees, and the communities where we work and live.
  • Lead the development, evolution, and integration of Andersen’s sustainability strategy in line with Andersen’s purpose, vision and values, as well as our commercial strategy.
  • Implement critical industry specific sustainability initiatives through knowledge of evolving sustainability regulations, on-going education, influence and partnership with key stakeholders including; Andersen’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Andersen's ESG Committee
  • Foster a culture of engaging sustainability education to inspire and all teams across the Andersen Enterprise.
  • Lead and manage the creation, implementation, tracking and measuring of sustainability performance indicators by ensuring the business has the right tools, capabilities and processes in place; Establish and set targets, milestones, and broader plans.
  • Represent the Andersen Brand by heading internal and external communications regarding the company’s sustainability program and achievements.
  • Identify, champion, and own key strategic partnerships, including the identification of opportunities to partner with suppliers and customers, and community engagement opportunities to advance Andersen’s sustainability goals.
  • Maintain strong knowledge and understanding of sustainability, with a broad understanding of the latest trends, impacts to operations, and opportunities for continued enhancement and engagement.
  • Integrate sustainability into Andersen’s innovation and investment strategy as well as business decisions to embed sustainability into the next chapter of Andersen’s long rich history of disruptive innovation.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Andersen’s Chief Sustainability Officer will design and lead Andersen’s sustainability strategy, performance, and reporting, overseeing both internal and external stakeholder communication and engagement. Our Chief Sustainability Officer will possess influential leadership, sustainability expertise, experience creating a similar scale sustainability strategy and a desire to continue the elevation and expansion of sustainability initiatives across the Andersen Enterprise. 
  • Demonstrates inspirational servant leadership with the proven ability to design and implement a sustainability vision and strategy that creates both followership and drives collective results within a highly matrixed, international organization.
  • Subject matter expert in sustainability possessing the knowledge and experience of operating in the rapidly evolving landscape of sustainability regulations, technology, compliance and reporting standards; Technical and environmental knowledge of manufacturing and/or building industry is highly desired.
  • Strategic relationship-building skills to create and maintain meaningful partnerships and connections across a variety of audiences including; internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, our executive committee, board of directors and all team members across the enterprise.
  • Ability to weave sustainability into the culture of an organization through effective and engaging communication strategies that encourage stakeholders, executive leadership and all team members to deliver sustainable growth and change.
  • A long-term fiduciary mindset, with a passion for excellence, client experience, the business and existing and new products to realize new opportunities.
  • Intellectually curious; focused on continual experimentation, learning, and opportunity identification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Master’s/Advanced degree preferred.

  • Procuring materials responsibly in partnership with our suppliers.
  • Minimizing the impact of our manufacturing and distribution operations with more than 99 percent of all incoming material utilized productively.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
