Job Title: Engine Assembler Apprentice

Reports to: Engine Assembler

Job Description:

• The Engine Assembler Apprentice will assemble or rebuild DOOSAN Natural Gas Engines ranging from 125HP-500HP. The Engine Assembler Apprentice must be able to interpret engine manuals, torque specs and company policies and procedures. This position will be using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, etc. The Engine Assembler Apprentice will take all quality control measures to ensure proper operation.

Essential Duties:

• Reads and interprets specifications manuals, assembly blueprints, and schematics to plan building and/or assembly operations.
• Aligns or positions components needed for assembly, either by manual placement or by using hoists.
• Uses measuring instruments, such as gauges, calipers or micrometers, to verify conformance of parts to blueprints or stock lists, and adjust parts by trimming, shimming or cutting with hand or power tools to fit the components together.
• Uses power tools or hand tools to smooth surfaces and remove rough spots from parts.
• Assists with repairs, reworks or replaces any damaged parts or assemblies.
• Follows all Mesa Safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Assists Engine Assembler in all processes as needed.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Vocational/Technical school.

Experience:

• 6 months - 1 years of related experience.
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
• Honorably discharged service veterans preferred.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Able to read and understand Engine performance data.
• Able to read and understand mechanical schematics.
• Able to properly use measurement tools.

Physical Demands:

• Standing; walking or moving throughout facility; seeing (specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus); hearing; feeling; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; reaching; pushing; pulling.

• The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions: • Will be required to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs).

• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
