Under general supervision, the Assembly Technician performs a variety of skilled and technical tasks in the assembly of natural gas generators; builds, installs, tests, replaces or adjusts generator components such as engines, alternators, enclosures, control units, emissions systems, charging systems, and other related systems;
and, interprets schematic wiring and modifies control circuits. This position will also drive a company vehicle in support of the manufacturing department. This is an entry-level classification. Incumbents perform routine task and as proficiency increases incumbents, under general supervision or technical guidance may perform more difficult assignments.
Essential Duties:
- Assists and participates in assembly of generator trailers.
- Installs engine/alternator assemblies onto generator trailers using overhead cranes.
- Assembles and installs scrubber tanks and other emissions equipment.
- Assembles and installs electrical wiring components and control units.
- Assembles and installs generator enclosures and related components.
- Installs deep cell batteries.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalence.
Experience: Required: Entry-level, no experience required.
Preferred:
- Mechanical/electrical background.
- Honorably discharged veterans .
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Possession of a valid Driver License at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to physical disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Ability to attain Crane and Forklift Certifications by the end of the probationary period. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
