As part of the Energy 1 team, the Plumbing Apprentice will help install plumbing for high-end custom residential and commercial clients. At Energy 1, our passion is to Demand Better. Duties and Responsibilities

This position will report to the Plumbing Manager and will serve as a critical member of the construction team.

Specific job duties:

  • Assist with cutting, bending, assembling, and installing various pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, sanitary, drainage, heating, gas and other plumbing systems which involve the performance of hand, bench, and maintenance plumbing tasks.
  • Assist with repairing and installing new water and drainage lines and waste and sewage pipes.
  • Assist with threading, reaming, assembling, caulking, soldering, and welding of various pipes and component parts.
  • Assists with installing, altering, repairing, or replacing all plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform all plumbing work in accordance with code and company standards.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid WY drivers license, or ability to acquire within 3 months.
  • Possess an introductory knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
  • Preferred: 1 to 3 years plumbing labor experience.
  • Preferred: Have standard tools of the trade.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, technical manuals, charts, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of International Plumbing Code and International Mechanical Code.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade.
  • Demonstrates the ability to thrive in a high demand and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, team orientated mindset with a high level of self and team accountability.
  • Is highly organized and exhibits a strong attention to details, record keeping, and follow-up.
  • Operates effectively with a diverse group of people internally and externally.

Requirements:

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: communicate with others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.


Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to typically work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow. Additionally, the position may require the employee to perform work at various heights, up to 50' from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas.
  • This position will require travel to multiple E1 sites on a regular basis as the need arises.
  • This position is located in Jackson, WY, with responsibilities for additional locations.
  • This FLSA non-exempt position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion.
