Job description

Overview
Are you an agile team player and creative problem-solver? Are you driven to engage, persuade, and motivate executive business decision-makers to adopt bold strategies with incredible PowerPoint decks, compelling business writing, and exceptional project management? Come join the Environmental Sustainability team in Microsoft's Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization!
Microsoft is on a mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, a theme of encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world. You can help us achieve our mission.
As the environmental challenges facing the world grow, so too has Microsoft's commitment to ensuring that the company's activities are aligned with the best available science and the expectations of leading stakeholder communities. The CELA Environmental Sustainability (ES) team coordinates overall science-based, measurable, and scalable sustainability investments and outcomes across the company - engaging with business groups to set goals related to reductions in the environmental impacts of business operations and positive environmental outcomes resulting from technology and policy development.
To support these efforts, CELA ES is hiring an Engagement Manager. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this position will contribute to the internal engagement needs of Microsoft's Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and CELA ES team. We are looking for a fast-moving, highly motivated colleague who will bring to our meeting management and internal stakeholder engagement an incredible knack for visual presentation (e.g., PowerPoint) and great written communication.
Responsibilities
  • Develop exciting, compelling ways to communicate with Microsoft executives and other internal audiences about sustainability, with visually impactful PowerPoint decks and stellar written and verbal communications. Leverage CSO and leadership team input and understanding of audiences to develop content in alignment with relevant corporate frameworks, Sustainability agenda, and business goals.
  • Collaboratively manage and execute a successful calendar of meetings for the CELA ES organization to advance the CSO's and team's agenda. This includes coordinating with numerous stakeholders, creating slide decks, planning agendas, developing internal briefings, supporting internal executive engagements, thorough notetaking for effective internal communication of results, performing landscape research, and ability to spot key opportunities and challenges to deliver success in these meetings.
  • Collaboratively implement employee engagement opportunities and lead the further development of activities within this pillar.
  • Deliver exceptional project management outcomes by collaboratively driving and managing process and substantive outcomes for CSO internal stakeholder engagements. Build broad networks to foster relationships, in collaboration with CELA ES front office, including maintaining work-back process for CSO and team alignment.
  • Develop and manage regular internal communications for cohesive messaging, employee engagement, and culture.
  • Manage special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years experience in project management, internal communications, strategy, or related area
