Energy Resources Coordinator

Mountain Parks Electric is a distribution cooperative seeking an individual for the Energy Resources Coordinator in our Granby, Colorado location. Mountain Parks Electric has 65 employees, approximately 1,800 miles of line, and serves approximately 22,000 meters. MPEI is headquartered in Granby, Colorado located at an elevation of 7,935 feet, 90 miles from Denver International Airport and 25 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Experience gold-medal fishing in the Colorado and Fraser Rivers or take a boat out on Lake Granby, the second largest body of water in Colorado. Granby is near Shadow Mountain and Grand Lake and offers spectacular scenery, miles of hiking trails connecting Granby to Fraser, Colorado, downhill skiing, mountain bike trail systems, and down-hill bike park and cross-country trails at nearby resorts.

The Energy Resources Coordinator develops and administers new energy services, programs, and processes to support the economic and reliable operation of Mountain Parks Electric's Power Supply Portfolio, using an energy system integration approach that addresses both demand-side member service initiatives and supply-side resource options, inclusive of new areas of research. This position advises leadership on decisions inclusive of existing power supply contracts, future portfolio planning, reviewing invoices, forecasting, and transmission conditions through personal expertise and/or the appropriate use and management of consultants. They will lead and administer distributed generation programs including net metering, PURPA qualifying facilities and certifications, and non-exporting DG systems.

Bachelor's Degree in energy management, sustainability, renewable energy, business, engineering, or related field is preferred; five years experience in electric utility industry dealing with advanced Energy Resources preferred, must be familiar with grid modernization principles; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in dealing with advanced Energy Resources is preferred. Utility scale and small-scale solar energy certifications, training, and/or experience strongly preferred. Certifications such as Home Energy Rating System (HERS), Building Performance Institute (BPI), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Distributed Generation Professional or Renewable Energy Professional certificate or other comparable residential and commercial building performance certification is a plus. Distributed Generation Professional or Renewable Energy Professional certificate(s) a plus. Must obtain energy auditing certificate within 12 months of start date. Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
