Description:
Los Angeles Employment Law Attorneys is an employment litigation firm that represents Plaintiffs in Sexual Harassment and Discrimination cases in the workplace. The Firm is looking for an experienced litigation attorney with a minimum of three years of experience in Employment Law litigation. Jury trial experience is a plus. The attorney must be well familiar with the CCP and Cal. Rules of Evidence. Virtually all litigation is conducted in state court or through arbitration. Litigation in Federal court is very rare.
The primary role of the attorney will be to attend and conduct depositions and make all court hearings, including those for law and motion such as CMC's motions to compel discovery. There are approximately eight depositions per month for the attorney to conduct or sit at. The staff will prepare most of the facts and evidence for the depositions.
This is an ideal job for an attorney who is looking to reduce his/her stress at work when litigating. The attorney must also have a pleasant personality, and willing to occasionally socialize with the Firm's team. The prospective attorney must be flexible on following the Firm's litigation methodology as the Firm currently has an efficient and cost effective process in litigating the cases. Although the firm is aggressive in its litigation tactics, the job of the prospective attorney is substantially less stressful as compared to other firms because the attorney's role is limited in scope. The attorney will not be responsible to oversee any of the cases.
The Firm currently consists of three attorneys, one of which is primarily tasked with drafting and filing and opposing motions. The other two attorneys manage the Firm, and handle the remaining legal tasks. These two attorneys are the founding attorney and the managing attorneys. Qualified attorney is hired to handle hearings and conduct the depositions and trials.
The Firm has a good support team with outstanding writing skills.
If the attorney has the qualifications to conduct a trial, most of the documents, the CACI's and other trial documents are prepared by the support staff. However, the attorney is expected to invest his/her time to thoroughly to prepare for trial, including reviewing the trial docs, evidence and preparing the client to testify at trial. The firm does not expect to have more than 3 trials per year. Whenever the attorney prepares or conducts a trial, the other attorneys will conduct the depositions and attend the hearings.
