Description:
Primary Purpose:Under the direction of an attorney carry out specialized Legal Research and writing assignments, and assisting with cases involving general liability, business and commercial litigation matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct Legal Research on assigned points of procedural and substantive law.
- Draft written discovery, motions, briefs, prepare arguments and develop litigation strategies.
- Represent A Provides Natural Gas and Electricity in depositions and court hearings under the supervision of the Managing Attorney.
- Interview company and external witnesses and prepare witnesses to testify at deposition under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney.
- Assist the Managing Attorney on all aspects of litigation from the onset until settlement or verdict.
- Use computerized data bases in the execution of Legal Research assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications:
Hybrid Schedule:
- Although the schedule may vary, the employee will work onsite three days per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and remotely on the remaining workdays.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university.
- JD (Juris Doctor) - Must have satisfactorily completed at least two years in an ABA credited law school.
- 0-3 years of experience as an Attorney.
- Proficient in Lexis and Westlaw.
Preferred Qualifications:
California State Bar license is highly desirable.
