Primary Purpose:
Under the direction of an attorney carry out specialized Legal Research and writing assignments, and assisting with cases involving general liability, business and commercial litigation matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct Legal Research on assigned points of procedural and substantive law.
• Draft written discovery, motions, briefs, prepare arguments and develop litigation strategies.
• Represent A Provides Natural Gas and Electricity in depositions and court hearings under the supervision of the Managing Attorney.
• Interview company and external witnesses and prepare witnesses to testify at deposition under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney.
• Assist the Managing Attorney on all aspects of litigation from the onset until settlement or verdict.
• Use computerized data bases in the execution of Legal Research assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications:
Hybrid Schedule:

• Although the schedule may vary, the employee will work onsite three days per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and remotely on the remaining workdays.
• Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university.
• JD (Juris Doctor) - Must have satisfactorily completed at least two years in an ABA credited law school.
• 0-3 years of experience as an Attorney.
• Proficient in Lexis and Westlaw.

Preferred Qualifications:
California State Bar license is highly desirable.
Please Note: This is an Employment Contract position that includes a comprehensive benefit plan (medical, dental, vision, and bonus program eligibility). Employment Contract positions are on the A Provides Natural Gas and Electricity payroll and are not third party contractors.
