Job Summary:
This critical player/coach role delivers investigation services for allegations of employee misconduct, ensuring widespread employee trust in the fairness and professionalism of the reporting and resolution process. As a key investigator, this role works on unusually complex situations and provides highly innovative solutions. Mentors and supervises employees in communication and investigation competencies. This role engages in the full array of raised concerns primarily from US and Canada and works with other SBU HR, Legal, Risk Mitigation, the Ethics and Compliance Group (ECG), security professionals and business leaders to ensure standard investigation case protocols, including security and data privacy, are employed. Takes the lead in confirming case closure. This role will also be responsible for coaching team members and managers on the administration of the Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) including accommodation request evaluation and response.
Responsibilities:
- Develops a highly engaged, effective investigations team fostering a culture of trust, values, respect and accountability within the team
- Effectively leads simple to large scale, complex investigations from concern intake, conducting interviews, reviewing data, documents, preparing reports, consulting attorneys and engaging with the business to move to resolution using a timely, organized and thorough process
- Provides guidance to team members on effective approaches to conduct investigations, the most effective use of collaborative resources and recommendations for corrective action/resolution of complex investigations
- Manages workload of team members to ensure an effective process and the most efficient use of team resources
- Organizes and summarizes results for review with business leaders including executives, the Ethics and Compliance Group (ECG) and legal teams. Has follow up conversations with key business leaders as necessary
- Analyzes data, gathers intelligent insights and drives continuous improvement in policy, training and/or standard work to decrease repetitive concerns across the region using lean tools and resources
- Builds a consistent enterprise framework for the investigation and reporting process and be seen as the COE expert within region
- Leads efforts to ensure the company’s Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) accommodation process is effective and coaches team/managers in the implementation of the ADA process
- Ensures compliance with all relevant country laws, regulations, policies and practices
- Delivers a professional, respectful process that aligns with Trane Technologies’ values
- Effectively manages risk for stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations or equivalent experience in an investigation related field
- 5+ yrs. of experience conducting workplace investigations through the full concern lifecycle from intake to resolution
- Prior experience leading others and developing a high performing team
- CFE or investigation certification is favorable
- Well versed in federal, state and local employment law
- Experience performing diagnostics, implementing KPIs and improving processes using continuous improvement tools
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills; superior ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization including executive positions
- Experience gathering, researching and analyzing information to resolve complex Employee Relations issues
- Able to travel domestically as needed, with short notice upon occasion
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight timelines

Base Compensation Range is $100,000 to $140,000
