- Meets with supervisor daily for the planning of current and future assignments.
- Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, installs, maintains, and operates various types of electrical systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs all electrical tasks per MA State Code and under the supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
- Responsible for purchasing and ordering materials from a State approved vendor and maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies. Also, processes receipts/purchase orders for payment in accordance with NRS/DDS policy.
- Performs functional testing on generators, fire alarms, fire pumps and associated electrical equipment with all life safety requirements.
- Properly documents all testing results for life safety.
- Performs all duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Prepares the area inclusive of assisting to move and cover furniture for completion of work and as needed.
- Cleans and restores all areas when the job is complete.
- Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures, including compliance with all DDS and NRS trainings.
- Participates in the NRS After Hours On-Call on a rotational basis as scheduled.
- Responsible for all assigned tools and using them in a safe/responsible manner.
- Must communicate using State issued equipment during work hours and be available using that same equipment after hours as scheduled.
- Responsible for cleaning up work areas and setting up safety barriers when required prior to performing any task.
- Must be able to set up and safely work off staging including step and extension ladders.
- Follows all policies and procedures of the NRS and DDS.
- Checks and completes all CAMIS work orders and correctly submits them in a timely fashion.
- All NRS Maintenance Staff are to use facility issued equipment to communicate during work hours.
- Must wear safety equipment and clothing supplied by the agency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
