Entry-Level Electrical Power Engineer

DESCRIPTION:
Entry level for technical design position requiring a Bachelor's degree in engineering. Performs assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Work is directed and checked on a task basis by a more experienced Engineer.
SPECIFICATION:
- Four year engineering degree; E.I.T. preferred.
- 0-2 years experience in Electrical Power design, preferably in the food and beverage and manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of SKM or ETAP is a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to travel, approximately 10-20% both locally and overnight.
DUTIES:
- Works in a safe manner at all times. Adheres to both Matrix and client established safety standards when appropriate.
- Perform design and engineering functions in accordance with accepted practices and company standards.
- Ability to correctly apply drafting techniques while efficiently developing electrical drawings utilizing AutoCAD software.
- Preform engineering calculations to properly size conduit, cable tray, wire, and circuit protection per applicable codes.
- Assist in gathering field data and preparing project specifications.
- Prepare scopes of work, bills of material, specifications, cost estimates, and other necessary documents for small projects.
- Prepare project correspondence as required.
- Proficient in MS Office products.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
- Specific vision abilities by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- This position must also be able to perform industrial field work which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications, ranging from $68,000 to $86,000 annually. The final salary will be determined based on various factors including candidate's experience and qualifications.
