Requirements:
This Technician will be required to demonstrate knowledge in the testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of substation and generation apparatus. This Technician shall also have extensive knowledge in generation relaying, FCO and startup. An engineering degree is preferred, but a specific Substation Technician apprenticeship or applicable military training will be considered. A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a must with NETA or NICET Power Testing certificates a plus. As the Substation Technician department is frequently independent for finding their own work, a familiarity in project management on small projects and estimating is a desired attribute of the ideal candidate.
A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required. Attention to detail is a must in this position. We are seeking a team player, self-starter and a well-organized person who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Extensive travel both in the state of Alaska as well as Pacific Northwest, Hawaii and South Pacific will be required for this position.
