We at Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies run the business operations of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) in the Americas. Being part of the global Freudenberg Group, our company is a leading producer of advanced sealing technologies for automotive and general industries. Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies is a joint venture between Freudenberg and NOK Corp. in Japan, is headquartered in Plymouth, MI, operates more than 20 facilities and employs about 4,700 people across the Americas.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of networking, PLCs, circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, HMI, vision cameras, programming, and adhere to safety standards
- PLC – Allen Bradley (primary), Siemens, Mitsubishi
- HMI – Allen Bradley, EZ Automation
- Manage all PLC and HMI programs.
- Work with other Electrical Controls Engineers, Project Engineers, Process Engineers and maintenance to complete equipment improvement projects and troubleshoot equipment.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Support production to decrease equipment downtime by troubleshooting of equipment to improve plant OEE%, Scrap, and Attainment.
- Support deployment of plantwide deployment of MSCADA/Ignition system
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, and components.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Assist with the electrical requirements/improvements for capital equipment.
- Participate in Growtth/Lean activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience. Controls experience is preferred.
- 1-5 years relevant manufacturing experience preferred
- Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Office, Teams)
- Proven experience as a Process Engineer/Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with 2D/3D modeling. (Fusion 360, Inventor, SolidWorks)
- Skill and knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Familiarity with quality control techniques, statistical process control (SPC), and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment to perform quality inspections.
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn and implement new technologies and processes.
- Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
