Electrical Assembler / Production Coordinator
This position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s lighting products. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Production workers may be assigned to specific skilled areas such as electronics, final assembly, packing, etc. This position will also be involved in generating and processing transfer orders, printing work orders, requesting raw materials for production builds, printing labels and other administrative tasks as needed by the Production Manager. This position is about 25% coordinating and 75% assembly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; reporting equipment faults to immediate supervisor.
- Reads shop orders, prints, work instructions, and routing.
- Performs assembly work as assigned by the Production Manager or Lead.
- Reports issues or problems with production builds to the Lead or Manager.
- Inspects work in progress and completed work to assure compliance with instructional guidelines, established procedures, and to ensure product meets set quality standards.
- Meets production goals in terms of quality and efficiency.
- Helps to maintain a clean and safe working environment and complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations at all times.
- Monitors the production process and carrying out basic testing and quality checks.
- May be expected to perform other tasks within production.
- Creates NetSuite transfer orders for subcontracted work.
- Coordinates transfer orders with the distribution and freight departments and vendors.
- Prints and prepares documentation and labels for work orders.
- Requests raw materials for production orders.
- Follows all safety rules and ISO requirements.
- Assists Lead and Manager in troubleshooting issues that arise during production.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when operational requirements necessitate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education/Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma. Some vocational training preferred.
- Mechanical and electrical wire assembly work. (Lighting experience preferred)
- Good hand and finger dexterity for assembly work.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Experience with an ERP system such as NetSuite preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Possess good judgement and attention to detail.
- Can adapt quickly to change and business strategies.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. regularly during the shift and 50 lbs at times during the shift.
- Must be able to stand and work on your feet for long periods of time
- Able to work in the various temperatures of a warehouse environment.
Hours (Full-time): Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
