Position Summary
Position Summary:
Applies concepts from safety and environmental engineering/management coursework to safety and environmental assignments that provide background and experience to accept additional responsibilities in their area of specialty later when the degree is completed. Candidates will be paired with a mentor who will provide direction and technical guidance. Candidates will gain experience with and knowledge of Parker EHS and Carbon Footprint Reduction programs sufficient to perform future responsibilities with general direction. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities that will include cross-functional experience.
- Actively acquires on-the-job training and knowledge of EHS practices to strengthen Parker's zero incident safety culture, maintain good environmental stewardship, reduce our fossil fuel related carbon footprint, and maintain regulatory compliance. Assignments are at a professional level but require guidance and direction from more experienced Personnel.
- Performs a variety of routine assignments to provide experience and familiarization with the EHS tasks, methods, practices, and programs of the company.
- Completes assignments individually or as part of a team and learns EHS management techniques.
- Attends internal trainings/meetings and applies training in work assignments. Learns to apply methods, measurements, and techniques to contribute to reaching EHS related goals and requirements.
- Work assignments will be a blend of cross-functional collaboration, and individual assignments.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Chemistry, Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering. Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of environments and assignments.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
