Beginning 2024-25 School Year
This is a 1.0 FTE district-wide position.
Base Salary + Enrichment Contract: $60,629-$115,182*
Supplemental 10 Days Contract-School Psychologist: $3,193-$6,065*
*Posted salary is for the 23-24 school year; the salary for the 24-25 school year will be modified following negotiations.
Essential Functions:

  • Work to support the success of students academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
  • Collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and community for all students.
  • Identifies and assess the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, as well as, the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment.
  • Provides interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment.
  • Assists in the planning, development, and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs.
  • Delivers a planned and coordinated program of psychological services.
  • Duties are performed in accordance with standards of professional practice, district/state board of education policies and procedures and state law regarding psychology practice.
  • Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance and welfare.
  • Employee may work in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team settings.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Washington State ESA School Psychologist Certification
Required Knowledge,Skills,and Abilities:
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs.
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons based on department and school objectives and the needs and abilities of student to whom assigned.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
  • Evidence of skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board policies.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain high ethical standards.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and forms.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
  • Ability to organize ideas, time, and materials to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to recognize students' current abilities.
  • Ability to develop instructional goals to account for individual student needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of state and national standards.
  • Ability to create student self-awareness for meeting state standards.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals when applicable. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, students, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
State Mandated Requirements:
Washington State ESA Certification
Fingerprinting (cost paid by the employee)
Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.
