Fremont School District 79 is seeking a Early Childhood Teacher / Preschool Teacher for ESY.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Professional Educator License;
- Has or is willing to obtain the Early Childhood, Learning Behavior Specialist, and English as a Second Language Endorsements
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Teacher / Preschool Teacher provides a supportive, engaging play-based educational environment to meet the needs of children aged 3-5 within a blended preschool classroom.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times assigned.
- Plans a play-based instructional program which meets the individual needs and abilities of the students.
- Utilizes a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and maintains order in a fair and consistent manner.
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of IEP goals, establishes clear objectives for all learning activities, and communicates these objectives to students.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Works cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
- Selects learning content congruent with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards and individual student IEPs.
- Demonstrates employee responsibilities in completing duties accurately and promptly.
- Develops instructional goals and objectives.
- Develops and maintains Individual Education Programs following established regulations by IDEA.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $46.00/hour
