Fremont School District 79 is seeking a Early Childhood Teacher / Preschool Teacher for ESY.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Illinois Professional Educator License;
• Has or is willing to obtain the Early Childhood, Learning Behavior Specialist, and English as a Second Language Endorsements

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Early Childhood Teacher / Preschool Teacher provides a supportive, engaging play-based educational environment to meet the needs of children aged 3-5 within a blended preschool classroom.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times assigned.
• Plans a play-based instructional program which meets the individual needs and abilities of the students.
• Utilizes a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and maintains order in a fair and consistent manner.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of IEP goals, establishes clear objectives for all learning activities, and communicates these objectives to students.
• Strives to implement by instruction and action the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Works cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
• Selects learning content congruent with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards and individual student IEPs.
• Demonstrates employee responsibilities in completing duties accurately and promptly.
• Develops instructional goals and objectives.
• Develops and maintains Individual Education Programs following established regulations by IDEA.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.

SALARY INFORMATION:

• $46.00/hour

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $46.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
