What we’re looking for (Qualifications / Requirements):
- Caring, nurturing, and responsible staff who genuinely love children
- Good communication skills
- Clear background checks
- Up-to-date physical with TB test and vaccinations for Covid, MMR, and T-dap, at minimum
- Ability to remain calm, positive, and professional under pressure
- For classroom Teachers and Assistant Teachers: Ability to meet all physical requirements of the role, such as lifting a child weighing up to 45 pounds, actively playing with children, frequently getting up and down from the floor, assisting with toileting or changing diapers, feeding small children, sanitizing toys, cleaning up, and other physical tasks as needed
TEACHERS MUST ALSO HAVE:
- CDA, Associate’s Degree (or at least 60 college credit hours with 6 in ECE), or Bachelor’s Degree in ECE/Child Development
- At least 1 year of direct experience in a group care setting for children between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old
- Completion of all DCFS required trainings and certificates
- Infant/Child CPR certified, or willing to become certified upon being hired
Responsibilities:
- Planning, supervising and implementing the program for child care in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the center
- Gearing the program to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents, and individual styles and paces of learning
- Perform daily activities, including setting up the classroom, conducting activities, and cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment
- Creating a positive learning environment and actively interacting with children to support play, exploration, and learning
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents, colleagues, and children
